There is literally something fun + free going on almost everyday this summer around Boulder. Here’s a list of some of our favorite ways to get out and enjoy the summer!
- Monday & Wednesday Mornings
Nature Play Drop-In – Every Monday and Wednesday morning this summer you can drop-in for free nature play activities along the creek right near the Boulder Library.
- Monday Nights
Meadow Music – Join Boulder’s own Jeff and Paige for this short hike and concert celebrating nature at Chautauqua.
- Tuesday Nights
Community Night at Sandstone Ranch – Once a month, gather for free family fun featuring a new act including magic, music and even hawks!
- Wednesday Nights
Boulder Farmer’s Market and Bands on the Bricks – Grab some delicious local food at the Farmer’s Market and then head over to Pearl Street to enjoy live music and a beer & margarita garden.
- Thursday Nights
Rock & Rails – An area favorite, Niwot’s summer concert series hosts a variety of musical acts along with food and drink vendors located right next to the lovely Niwot Children’s Park.

Concerts in the Park – Louisville also has a summer concert series on Thursday nights with food trucks.
- Friday Mornings
Fun Fridays at Sandstone Ranch – Come enjoy indoor & outdoor play with weekly themes & crafts, and Storytelling in the main room at 11am. ($2/child suggested donation)
- Friday Afternoons
Free Friday Movies at Longmont Library – Feature-length popular family films with free admission on Fridays! 125 tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 1:30.
- Every Day
Summer Reading Program and more – Visit your closest library branch to enroll in the summer reading program where kids can earn free ice cream, nachos and rewards from Gateway Fun Park. While you’re there, catch one of the daily storytimes or other great programming designed for kids of all ages including dancing, a bike rodeo, science experiments, concerts, movies and family yoga!
