Fall Fun in Denver/Boulder 2019

Do you feel that cool air at night now? Football season has started and fall is nearly upon us. It’s time to make the most of the new season. Here are some fun autumn events happening in the greater Denver and Boulder areas this year:

  • Denver Oktoberfest
    September 20-22 and 27-29, 2019
    Celebrating 50 years this September, The Denver Oktoberfest attracts over 250,000 people during the six-day festival and it was quoted in USA Today as “The Best Oktoberfest” in the United States.
  • Boulder Bee Fest
    September 28, 2019
    Celebrate Pollinator Appreciation Month with 2 separate, pollinator-themed kids’ concerts. Outdoors and free to attend thanks to the City of Boulder. Bring a blanket and get to work on your free, pollinator kids’ activity passport between sets!
  • Community Harvest Festival at Growing Gardens
    October 2, 2019
    Join us for this FREE event at our Boulder farm to celebrate the harvest season! We’ll have food trucks, pumpkin picking, bluegrass music from Boxcar79, a Post Brewing Company Biergarten and more! There will be face and pumpkin painting, Long’s Gardens iris bulbs, a farm stand with fresh produce, and goat petting with Mountain Flower Goat Dairy. This is a free event with a suggested donation of $5-$10/family.
  • Enchanted Hallows Bigfoot Festival at Denver Zoo
    October 4 – 26, ,2019
    This fall, Denver Zoo is transforming into the ultimate autumnal celebration: Enchanted Hollows. Explore two unique experiences, Harmony Hill Bigfoot Festival and Woodland Hollow an immersive art walk, PLUS a cornucopia of activities and attractions to entertain everyone in the family—including axe throwing, cornhole, elaborate pumpkin carvings, animal specialist talks and even a Scary-oke sing-along!
  • Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Four Mile Historic Park
    October 4-5, 2019
    Fall into some old-fashioned fun during our annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival, a long-time Denver favorite reimagined for 2019. Celebrate all things autumn featuring live music, food trucks, pioneer games, and a pumpkin patch. New this year, 98.5 KYGO will be live onsite Saturday from 10am – noon.
  • Pumpkin Festival at Denver Botanic Gardens
    October 11-13, 2019
    Enjoy a day of fall activities at Chatfield Farms. Ticket price includes access to the 10-acre pumpkin patch and family and children’s activities. Pumpkin prices vary by size; the average price is $8. It is recommended to bring a wagon to transport pumpkins. Free pumpkin daycare is available while you enjoy the rest of the festival.
  • Fall Fest at Thorne Nature Center
    October 14, 2019
    Looking for something fun to do with your children on BVSD’s Fall In-service Day? Celebrate the transition of seasons with Thorne Nature Experience at the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center. We will have nature crafts, face-painting, nature hike explorations with Thorne Staff, and dancing and singing in rainbow socks with our favorite nature performers Jeff & Paige! Free, but tickets required.
  • Westminster Halloween Harvest Fest
    October 19, 2019
    Bring the whole family to kick off the fall season with free carnival games, trick-or-treating, a hot-air balloon glow, live musical performances by local bands, a beer garden, food trucks, arts and crafts, jumping castles, local vendors, a bonfire and a BBQ competition. You can even pick out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch! Rex Peoples & XFactr play on the main stage at 3-4:30pm. FREE SHOW!
  • Munchkin Mascarade
    October 31, 2019
    Each year, Downtown Boulder is invaded by thousands of tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies & princes, super heroes and animals of every size trick-or-treating along Pearl Street. Recommended for children ages 12 and under.
